SIGNIFICANT SETTLEMENT

Our office just settled a case for $950,000 involving a 36 year old woman who sustained multiple orthopedic injuries in a motor vehicle collision that occurred on US 101 in December 2006. One defendant, driving a pickup, lost control during a heavy rainstorm, crossed the centerline and collided with our client. The driver of the pickup complained against the State of California, claiming a dangerous condition of public property caused pooling of water on the freeway. This case involved complex hydrology and highway design engineering issues. Many experts were utilized on both liability and damages issues.
