One defendant, driving a pickup, lost control during a heavy rainstorm, crossed the centerline and collided with our client. The driver of the pickup complained against the State of California, claiming a dangerous condition of public property caused pooling of water on the freeway. This case involved complex hydrology and highway design engineering issues.

Decedent, a 25 year old high school teacher who was killed in 2007 while riding his bicycle in the City of Santa Cruz by a truck making a right hand turn. The case was brought on behalf of decedent's parents. The decedent was unmarried and had no children. The case settled for $1.5 million dollars.
